Zion Canyon
Native Flute School

Planned for 2026 — Stay Tuned!

Springdale, Utah

Flute playing workshops • Healing
drum • Performance skills •
Improvisation • Play, Play Play!

Beautiful Zion National Park in Southern Utah provides the backdrop for the 2026 Zion Canyon Native Flute School.

The Native Flute School is a four-day intensive, but we've been able to keep the registration reasonably priced. The school has three tracks, for the newest beginner to the seasoned advanced master player, plus a special track focused on the Rim Blown Flute.

Zion Canyon Arts and Humanities Council

Some of the evening events this year are sponsored by the Zion Canyon Arts and Humanities Council. We thank them for their support!

Classes will address jazz flute, composition, ensemble performance and the healing flute presented by great facilitators from across the nation. You will come away with the ability to play with confidence and an understanding of rhythms, tones and improvisation.

The native flute is simple to play ... you don't even have to read music!

Location

Zion Canyon National Park

The School is located on the edge of Zion Canyon National Park, which is celebrating it's 104th anniversary this year.

Some tracks from various facilitators:

“I watched people really open up and be so proud of themselves as they learned to understand and try things. They were so happy. Comaraderie and spirit developed over these days.”
— William Shanor
